Our History
History of Faith Deliverance Ministries
Faith Deliverance Ministries has a powerful story of growth and spiritual guidance, beginning as a home-based Bible study gathering hosted in the hometown of Greenville, IL. FDM officially became a recognized ministry in 2017. At this time, Minister Darryl Walter committed to intense prayer and fasting, seeking God’s direction. He was shown many visions of a church near his home and dreams of his family and children actively serving in ministry alongside him. These dreams and visions focused on many souls being filled with the Holy Ghost and a host of deliverance services. Remarkably, his wife, Min. Tara Walter, began experiencing similar dreams, affirming their shared calling of ministering healing, deliverance and salvation to the lost.
In 2022, Min. Darryl Walter and his wife, Min. Tara Walter, were elevated within Higher Ground International Ministries to the positions of Elder and Evangelist, respectively. Both remained active in various ministries at Faith Miracle Temple. Early in 2023, Elder Walter felt a divine call to begin pastoring in 2024; in November 2024, Elder Walter was ordained and installed as Pastor, with the sacred ceremony officiated by Apostle Larry J. Baylor.
The first service of Faith Deliverance Ministries as a church was held in October 2024 in a small meeting center in Maryville, Illinois, and was marked by powerful healing and deliverance. The ministry’s mission is to reach the lost in the local community and engage young people from nearby colleges, with future plans to establish a food pantry and a boys and girls club. The prophetic vision entrusted to Pastor Walter and his family continues, guiding their steps as they grow the ministry and serve the community.
